Migration to Hosted Desktop

The first step in migrating to Hosted Desktop involves a quick questionnaire (one of our business development associates will be on hand to assist you as needed), which your personal Infiniwiz engineer will use to plan your move. Armed with your responses, your specialist will contact you to document all the details of your servers, applications, printers, scanners, users – every component of your network will be taken into account.
The Infiniwiz team will ensure the compatibility of all elements including versions, environment requirements and interdependencies. At this stage we may find that you use incompatible applications, but don’t worry, we’ll suggest alternatives. In our thorough evaluation of your network we will identify and address risks, and recommend improvements to enhance stability.
Your assigned specialist will create an action plan, scheduling each step of the transition and when it will take place. If something needs to happen on a weekend or afterhours, we’re happy to work around your schedule.
This is where everything comes together in a single solution. First, we setup servers and allocated required storage. Next, standard applications such as Microsoft Office are installed. Custom applications and associated components are setup after that. Finally, all users are provisioned as specified by you. Here we pay special attention to the permissions that each user should be granted, making sure we follow precisely what you need and want.
Testing and Training
Once everything is setup, but before live data is transferred, we provide training on how to access and use your new Hosted Desktop solution. At this point, we encourage you to play around with the new system so that you get a chance to become comfortable with the virtual desktop before everything is live. We’ll be playing too, testing everything installed to make sure all applications are working smoothly.
Once everyone is comfortable using the new Hosted Desktop system and we have the go ahead from you, we set a date and time of transfer of live data. Transfers take from a few hours to 2 days depending on the amount of data. We can transfer data over night or during a weekend, over the internet or, if there is a large amount of data, we may ask you to ship it to our data center. Infiniwiz engineer will discuss and coordinate timelines and methods with you.
From the first day of use and every day after that you will have access to our 24×7 technical support department. Your specialist will be following up one week after migration just to make sure everything is running smoothly and that all your questions are addressed. When we say we’re here for you, we mean it.
